BOTTEN:
Our project explores how footwear can express individuality and identity. We created a 16-page magazine in which we visited four students in their homes, photographing them and their shoes in one of their rooms to capture a personal atmosphere. The magazine is divided into two parts: The first portraying the four individuals, the second an article discussing how shoes can reveal aspects of personality and personal expression. To highlight the project’s intimate and personal nature, we pinned the shoe photographs to the pages with paperclips, creating a tactile, authentic, and refreshing look.
PROCESS AND MY PART:
I collaborated with my team to develop the visual language and overall appearance of the photographs. During the photoshoots, I assisted with lighting and various on-set tasks. My main responsibility was designing multiple layout approaches in collaboration with Jonah. We explored numerous visual variations to find the most fitting style for the magazine. In the final stage, I also contributed to assembling the magazine physically, ensuring that the visual and tactile aspects came together harmoniously to reflect the project’s concept and atmosphere.Wintersemester 2024/25 (KG2)
